INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF PHOTOGRAPHY PHOTOVISA

KRASNODAR / RUSSIA

I am happy to have been nomiated for the photoseries contest of PhotoVisa.

Founded in 2008, the International Festival of Photography PhotoVisa is the largest regional festival of photography held in Russia, which won recognition from the Russian and global photography community.

The theme of the 2015 Festival  is the Language of Memory. It covers contemplation of certain signs conveying the past, reconstruction of processes and creation of images necessary for memory restoration, retention, and, finally, consideration of memory as one of the figurative forms of communication between individuals and cultures. One of the key questions raised by the curators of the Festival program in 2015 is whether it is possible to share one’s memories.

The Festival is organized by the IRIS Art Foundation, the ROSIZO State Museum and Exhibition Center of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, In Support of Photography in Russia Project, and the Artistic Union VivaPhoto, regional public organization of Krasnodar.

PhotoVisa is a member of the international association of photography festivals Festival of Light and partner of international cultural projects including FotoFest Biennial (Houston, USA) and Encuentros Abiertos—Festival de la Luz (Argentina), the Australian Center for Photography, the University of Arts in Poznan (Poland), etc.
