Facebook & Instagram Strategies, Hacks and Cheats

Everybody somehow uses Facebook and Instagram. But most only touch the surface of social media’s potential. It gets more exciting, when you see through the mechanisms of these channels and understand the underlying algorithms. But it also gets more manipulative, where fake accounts, bots and click baits rule as fake news and spammers are always a step ahead of Silicon Valley.
When it comes to social media marketing, many creatives and photographers are tempted to follow that path. But what is ethical and where is the limit? And will cheating really be advantageous? What are the legal alternatives and how effective are they? How do you oversee which digital strategy suits your objectives? And how can you optimise your workflow and increase the reach for your work with a lasting effect?
I will elaborate on the mechanisms of Facebook & Instagram, and introduce the strategic tricks, hacks and cheats. And I will provide ideas to maximise each participant’s potential – through an assessment of their social media profiles.
Since 2001 I have led a double life – as an internationally exhibiting photo artist, as well as a freelance strategist for digital marketing and ad agencies, such as Saatchi & Saatchi, McCann, Scholz & Friends, R/GA, TLGG, Publicis, Webguerillas and Aperto. In this role, I produced the worldwide social media guidelines for Audi, the European Facebook Strategies for LIDL and Milka and the strategies for Opel Switzerland and Swisscom.
