To the opening of my Berlin solo exhibition THE POSTHUMAN CONDITION.
The show brings together three bodies of work from 2018 to 2023, including AI & BEYOND, the synthetic images created with artificial intelligence (AI) this year and last, parts of the experimental installation THE RABBIT HOLE (with Tanvir Taolad) shown in Arles in 2021, and the video works of THE POSTHUMAN CONDITION, created between 2018 and 2021 with transhumanist performers. What connects the individual groups of works is the question of the nature of man, the reasons for his failure and the longing for transcendence. In addition, all the works were created in dialogue, whereby it makes no difference to me whether this dialogue takes place with other artists or with an artificial intelligence.
On Thursday, 16 February 2023, 5 p.m., I will talk with curator Peggy Schoenegge about the significance of new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) in my work process: what role does AI play and to what extent can it be understood as an entity in its own right?
