MONTRÉAL | Solo show at ELEKTRA Gallery
“Fragments of an Artificial Consciousness” gathers three video series to explore the concept of artificial consciousness, shining a light on its inherent, real-world limitations. Presenting “Professional Development”, “Goldberg’s Cave”, and selected works from “Neverending Stories”, the exhibition deploys AI-generated video loops and fragments to consider the fictional nature of such a consciousness. Collage-like in their surprising transformations from frame to frame, these works blur and clip the line between reality and nightmare, human and prompted construction, the mind and its absence. At times Kafkaesque, at times funny, these short films fit right in with horror and animate the troubles and figments of a consciousness that cannot be.
